This just in: Unknown woman joins bachelor in bed
I hate when that happens.

A Canadian bachelor on Vancouver Island didn't appreciate a naked woman he'd never met waking him up and sliding into his bed, police said.

The unidentified man called police to report the mystery visit around 3:20 a.m. Saturday, the QMI Agency reported Tuesday.

The Victoria Police blog said the man reported "a woman came into his bedroom, promptly disrobed, slid into the bed next to him and fell asleep," the blog said.

4. A gentleman would not have called the police.
He would retire to the couch and surrender the bed.

7. Well, a STUPID gentleman, yes. Smart ones would call the police
INstead of allowing themselves to be left open to murder or robbery.

9. She was naked and asleep.
Temptation, maybe, for a cad, but threat? I think not.

10. How about this though........
What if she's a prostitute and her pimp comes looking for money? What if she wakes up the next day and says you raped her?

Sorry man, strange women in house = call cops.

12. Yeah, I'm wiht you on this one
I mean aside from my urge to start writing punchlines and all, I'd say as a general rule: "unknown stranger in the house" = "call the cops."

And I could see a lot of situations where that would be in the stranger's best interest too.

17. Only an idiot would stay in the house with a naked stranger of the opposite sex.

While it would be gentlemanly to surrender the bed, it would also open him up to all sorts of scrutiny and possible accusations. If she was too drunk to remember where her apartment was, what else was she too drunk to remember? When she wakes up the next morning naked, hung over, and in a total strangers apartment, what are the odds that she'd believe, "No, I swear I didn't touch you! You climbed into my bed naked, and I climbed out and went to sleep on the couch!".

Being a gentleman, in this case, sounds like an easy way to end up on a sex offender registry.

3. It's funny to me that they specify "bachelor" - dunno why, exactly, just cracks me up.
Wonder if they're trying to hint at something - perhaps that the real story is that a single guy didn't take advantage?

I remember a story once where a woman heard a noise and came downstairs armed with a bat (having already called the police) to discover her drunk neighbour cooking a midnight snack and asking what the hell she was doing in his kitchen.

I think it's silly the fuzz took her in when her apartment was right there too.

8. She should have used a flamingo. Damn bats got no reach.
Little stumpy wings and all. Cute faces though.

18. When I was 16, I was babysitting the neighbor's kids...
when I came downstairs after getting them to bed (finally, the unruly bunch)I fell asleep on the couch. When I woke up around midnight all I could smell was alcohol. I stood up and tripped over a man that was passed out on the floor.

I promptly called the cops. Come to find out, he was one of the kids' Mom's ex's.

13. That LITERALLY happens to me, like, all the time
In fact, this one time, both Natalie Portman and Morena Baccarin slipped into my bed while I was asleep and proceeded to sleep-tickle each other. That shit is so fucking annoying.
