Hulu?
Any recommendations - or precautions - on using HULU? Is it really free?

1. I've used it a few times
I watched the British comedy "Peep Show" on there. There is a lot of stuff if you like to watch TV on your computer. I'm in front of computers all day at work so I'm not that keen on watching TV shows on it at home.

It's free with commercials or you can subscribe to Hulu-Plus and get more access to all the episodes.

Precautions? It's from NBC, News Corp, and Disney. Take that whichever way you might.

I don't have any recommendations.

4. I like Hulu.
You just click on a movie and you get to watch it. No strings attached. I sign into an account to do it but it is not mandatory.

5. I think their free service is better than their pay service
Their pay accounts are for TV shows only. The free site has movies and documentaries.

6. I watched a season of "Legend of the Seeker" on it.
Saved me having to find it on the tellie. They have a free service and a subscription service. Never watched the subscription, just the free.

The subscription service is the only one available on streaming devices like Roku or BluRay players. If you want to watch the free service on TV you have to hook your computer up to it, or use a game system with a browser, like PS3. Those streaming devices don't have the computing power to surf the internet, so the provider has to write an app and stream their programming through the app, and Hulu doesn't do that for their free service.

7. I have to admit that I've watched very little Hulu since I got my Roku box & stream Netflix.
The difference being that I can watch what I stream with my Roku box on my 50" plasma rather than on my computer monitor. I get my network programming free and over the air in HD using a rooftop antenna (like in the olden days).

8. Love it.
Don't have cable, and I can catch up with a lot of things on Hulu...episodes are usually available a day or so after they air on tv.

10. 51% owned by Comcast! Yes, I've used it once or twice but with Roku...
Netflix and JustinTv, I really don't have the need or the time. HuluPlus, their premium 'fee based' site(also available on Roku)is somewhat underwhelming.

11. It's saved my sanity
MG Jr. is always on the TV, with either his shows on TiVo, Nickelodeon, or Xbox, so I can sit in the same room and catch up on my TV shows with Hulu. Shows with commercials are free and the ads are tolerable (not too many).

13. Hulu's great stuff, it is
truly free (unless you intentionally opt for their pay service); and it's a cinch to hook your computer up to your TV if you want to enjoy it on the big(ger) screen!
