It is very hard to know where the line is
between needing to be at work and needing to be at home with my very sick spouse.

Any thoughts?

1. Check with HR about your eligibility for FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act).
.
.
.
Its provisions cover spouses/parents/children/etc. who are the
primary caregivers for a sick family member.
.
.
.
That may expand your options.

2. FMLA is already in place.
The problem is that I don't have anymore PTO (paid time off). Taking time off under FMLA won't result in disciplinary action, but I won't get paid, either.

Thanks, MFM
