1. Hey, Duckie!
Over here by Penn Square, we're in an almost total whiteout! Love watching it out the window, and I'm so glad to be able to stay indoors!

It's a good day to be warm.... :bounce:

33. I know where you guys are!
I was in the record snowfall last January in OKC that made the national news.
Dear Hubby's former bro in law died and they had a memorial service in Warr Acres.

I like to drive through Pretentious Estates (Nichols Hills) and look at the houses.

Here in East Texas it's 25 degrees. The front hit about 6:30 am and I ran outside at ten and brought my plants in. Hope they didn't freeze. We don't have any snow but it's colder than a welldigger's fanny in Nebraska.

38. I actually work near Pretentiousville.
And our boss (the founder's son and CEO) lives there.
And the better Earl's is there. And if you tell me you don't know Earl's, you'd better get your ass back here to eat at Earl's. Best Ribs Ever.

Have to work tomorrow, and I know all the flights will be REALLY full.

Looks like it will be an overnight in Minneapolis on my dime, as I have to fly to Alaska tomorrow.

18. It's an aviation weather report (for av8rdave).
It's sent out in a kind of code (goes back to teletype days) and is updated hourly. Translated, it says: wind is out of 10 degrees at 11 knots, visibility is 9 miles, few clouds at 4,400 feet, broken cloud layer at 25,000 feet, temperature -14 Celsius, dew point -18 Celsius, barometric pressure 30.55.

It's coldish, but at least we aren't getting any more snow.

Surprised to see that the 737 does MSP-ANC. Used to be 757s. ANC in January -- fun...

49. The weather, believe it or not, is about the same as it is in DFW right now, without the ice
They have been doing a lot of equipment changes since the merger. I've been flying a lot of stuff I never would have in the past.

I used to love ANC, but normally did it in the summer. Right now, it's warmer there than it is here, so I guess I can't complain!

Hope you're staying warm!

And below zero tomorrow night (tonight too?). Thank god/goddess/Flying Spaghetti Monster, no gig tonight. I remember loading out from a hotel gig the last time Albq got down to zero, about 20 years ago...NOT fun.

40. I hear you.. it isn't fun to have to be out in it and working, especially with the wind..
But kind of nice to watch from a warm little cave, with a hot coffee drink in hand. I like that part of it. But I had to go in to work today and, unfortunately, my car does not have a heater, so it makes traveling particularly uncomfortable.

I think it is gonna be colder tonight than they think it is.

Brrrrrrrrrr

Should be fun. Went to the supermarket for the usual groceries (not a panicked bread-and-milk run) and noticed they were ready--gallons of milk in the cooler opposite the door, totes of firewood.

We haven't had a lot of snow this winter, so...bring it. My kid needs a snow day.

We'd be losing our shit if tornadoes were headed our way. But a foot of snow? Meh. (Of course, the army of plows and mountains of salt at the ready helps us be laid back about it all. :D ) Stay safe, Duckie. Hope you don't get a snowpocalypse. :hi:

We are expecting 12-18 inches, on top of what we already have.

Two ambulances just went by our house, and a snowplow. I feel badly for the people who have to be out.

Most schools and businesses closed early. Stay in and stay safe, everyone.

Might as well be snowed in...cuz we don't do ice well in Dallas. At all.

Area schools have already announced they are closed tomorrow cuz it's not like this is going away by then..wind chills are supposed to be -10 tonight.

So my outtings have been to take the dog out twice today and then back to couch potato status. Been a cycle of: couch potato/go smoke on the balcony/go kitchen graze/back to the couch to watch local news show abandoned vehicles on the highways kind of day. Pretty much the same agenda tomorrow :)
