2. Yes but can we assume you had somewhere to put it?
That's the problem Boston is facing - those are sidewalks - the only place to put the snow is up. :scared:

4. I dunno about Boston,
but here they actually drop it in the harbor. The can only do that for the first 24 hours of a storm, after that it just piles up.

27. Actually there's been some big controversy about dumping
into the rivers - you can't dump city snow into the water - there's pollutants in it - they're trucking the snow out of town.

7. Yeah that's pretty much where it went and then we'd build forts and then we'd
pelt the crap out of each other with snowballs.

20. You might enjoy this Mr. Pitt

The photo depicts Negaunee’s Iron Street on March 13, 1899. These men have partially completed a Herculean shoveling task. You can see the “J. Trathen Saloon” in the background, so perhaps that was their eventual stop.

I see your pic and raise you the Blizzard of '78:

I was sledding out a second-floor window when this one was over.

26. No kidding. Ski to work, work 8 hours and then see friends in the evening.
We went sledding at the cemetery up the street that had a small hill and a knoll. And a lot of dead bodies too of course. The guys made it a competition to miss the big headstones and steer around the smaller ones. Wine, snow, friends and stupidity.

We had great fun during that blizzard. Thanks for the memory reminder.

23. I'm just north of you. We have streets that narrow.
Well, almost. By tomorrow it will be the case. Won't be leaving the house for a while, I'm sure. I'm on the bottom of the plowing list. I don't care to be reminded of the blizzard of '78. We could walk out of our second story windows, the snow was at sill level on one side of my house.

We're starting this storm with more on the ground than what the 78 storm dumped on us.
