It's a BEAUTIFUL sunshiney springlike day -- about 70 degrees.

Here in Tucson, cowboy boots and short shorts or miniskirts have never actually gone out of fashion.

(on edit) I meant, of course... that you may now envy me because of how comfortable my outfit feels.

But you probably KNEW that.

1. My dear MiddleFingerMom!
Consider yourself envied!

It sounds wonderful...

We're expecting a winter storm; it's supposed to get here shortly.

Hope your lab tests turn out well, sweetie!

2. Tucson is great esp. for an astronomy buff
A few years ago a professional astronomer buddy of mine got me behind the scenes at Steward Mirror Lab, Kitt Peak and the MMT on Mt. Graham.

I wanted to steal one of the mirrors but I didn't think it would fit in my backpack:

Kitt Peak:

3. Kitt Peak just got a shot in the arm!!
http://azstarnet.com/news/local/article_d7e53ad6-e1cf-546d-9d2a-f1280de29811.html

A $100 million international project called Big BOSS could breathe new life into an
aging telescope on light-challenged Kitt Peak southwest of Tucson.

A consortium led by Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory wants to outfit the 4-meter
Mayall Telescope with the world's most sophisticated spectrographs and use it to answer
one of astronomy's grand challenges: explaining why the expansion of the universe is
accelerating rather than slowing.

For the fields of astronomy and physics, it is an opportunity to test theories and
challenge long-held beliefs - even Einstein's gravitational mathematics.

For Kitt Peak, it is redemptive - a chance to transform its largest telescope
from outdated behemoth to high-tech wonder, with an international cast.

4. Cool!
Went inside the 4M when we were there. So funny because it seemed small after the MMT (6.5m) and the 8.5m blanks at the mirror lab.

5. Wish I could SEE your comfy outfit......
Are you wearing cowboy boots and short shorts or a miniskirt?

What about motorcycle boots and a tool belt?

Chaps and a cowboy hat?

*cough*

I digress
