The news specifically mentioned 'the clock was set back'
That is a reference to a 'tales from the dark-side episode.'
In that episode a ghost came back for revenge against a bookie, and he did it by knowing the future. Then at the end, the bookie moves the clock time to get the ghost to think he lost some bet he didn't lose. The ghost was trying to take all the bookies money.
It is a pretty good episode.
It has many thoughts in it.
It says don't give up because someone says it is to late, and is about perseverance, and avoiding letting what you see change what you know. While still learning.
It is a sad an upsetting episode, because it, like in so many other places, reverses the good and bad in the episode.
The part that episode does not mention.
When the bookie died, all his 'money' in that form was gone, since you can't take it with you. So in that episode, even though the bookie thought he won, the ghost still achieved his goal.
It is a fabulously deep episode, even if it gets something wrong.
Also anyone that can create effect, can have the ability to create that effect look like it is not them, by just saying they just knew it would happen.
"You can pretend I knew about that"
