I need hotel recommendations!

If you've been there, and you liked where you stayed......

I'd like to hear about it...

Thanks!

Probably downtown...Nothing fancy, but nice. I'm assuming it'll be over $100/night...

Easy access to the light rail would be wonderful. And non-smoking!

Thanks, sweetie!

12. Light rail? The T is a full-fledged subway.
the country's first, beating NYC by several years.

Downtown and Back Bay are compact enough that almost any hotel is no more than a few blocks from it.

We'll be there for a couple of days on our way to Iceland, and coming back.

I already talked to Will! It would be too cool to have you there too!

I think downtown would be great since it would be easy to find, and give us access to the local transit.

Thanks, sweetie!

20. Too cool! If you have $ to burn, stay at the Parker House. It
is a landmark right at the bottom of Beacon Hill and the State House and on the Freedon Trail. Keep me in the Loop on your plans as they develop.

10. Peggy, there is a charming converted brownstone called
The Inn at St. Botolph one block from the Prudential Center. It is very close to the subway and minutes from everything. The rooms are spacious with both living and bedroom areas and a continental breakfast is included. I've included a link to their website. I promise you can't go wrong with this place. I stayed there last summer and loved it.

16. You can catch the subway right at the airport and
get off at the Pru Center one block from the hotel. If you have a lot of luggage, you would have to take a cab, but that's the case with any of the Boston Hotels. What I loved about the location was the proximity to the restaurants at the Prudential Center and the convenience to the subway. Be sure to get a Charlie Card before you leave home. That's all you need to get around Boston.

We don't plan to take a lot of luggage.

And everything has wheels. It's so much easier.

Hadn't heard about the Charlie Card...sounds good!

Your help has been invaluable.

34. Boston is very easy to navigate.
The T goes everywhere, and to the airport (although you do have to get on a bus for the final leg). I am in Boston now, but am not familiar with all the places to stay. I do know a lot of bars though, lol. I hope you have a great time here, and on the rest of your trip. It is a fun city, plenty to do. Depending on how long you are here, there are lots of tours, museums and restaurants to check out.

For seafood - if you are going ritzy, go to Legal Seafood (local chain)very fresh, beautifully prepared, surgically clean. For a "carachter" experience, go to the No Name, right on the fish pier. Mountains of great seafood, and a great chowda.

Also check out the hotel's history - Malcolm Little a/k/a Malcolm X was a busboy there. The Kennedy family and Mayor Michael Curley used to hang there.

41. I love Boston. Stayed in a hotel in Cambridge that I didn't really like though. Was 20 years ago or
more. Actually I've been there twice. Once I was visiting my brother at Harvard. You have to eat out in little italy. Really great little trattorias there. Also, my mom and I liked Sam's American Cafe so much we went back. It is around the corner from the Ritz Carleton.... about a block from the Commons.
