My cat rocks
he knows when I'm not feeling well and tries to add himself as another blanket on top of me.

However, he is 22lbs.

1. That's so sweet....
At least his intentions are good. I can't weight my chubby cat because she freaks out every time she sees a scale. It must be a girl thing.

4. Do what I do - weigh yourself with the cat in your arms
Then deposit the cat on the floor and weigh yourself without cat. :)

Cat in question being Socrates, he of the nickname "Biggie Fries" because he's on the sunny side of 30 lbs. :P

2. Awww so sweet
One of my cats (the mellow one, not the neurotic pisspot one) does the same thing. I had food poisoning a couple of weekends ago, and when I laid down on the bed in between visits to the bathroom, writhing in agony and begging for the sweet release of death, she curled up next to me and just...was. Very zen of her, really.

About two years ago I went through a really tough time emotionally, and I was crying myself to sleep pretty much every night for several months; every time I wept (as silently as I could), she'd come out of nowhere and lay down on my pillow so she was up against the top of my head, and she'd purr.

Cats know.

3. My cats know when I'm watching Animal Planent's "Animal Cops"
I get all weepy eyed and want to hug my cats - but they will all hide.

5. My kitties know when I'm upset -- especially my female.
She comes and puts her paw on my arm and looks into my eyes with concern. :loveya:

8. My pet rocks don't do anything like that. They are lazy.
