Baxter desperately needs those powerful patented Lounge vibes.

Baxter was dumped here last week. We've been feeding him since and trying to find him a happy home because we can't afford another dog. He is the sweetest boy. When I'd open the door in the morning, he was so happy to see me he would get up on his hind legs and dance. Very sweet, very friendly, very loving. He has been enjoying himself out here so much.

Yesterday he seemed a little glum and not his usual self and was off his food. Today he is extremely lethargic and not evening drinking water anymore. I ran him to the vet. He has parvo. We are giving him antibiotics, high concentrated nutritional food in paste form from the vet, and large syringes full of gatorade to keep him hydrated. I've sworn to him if he helps us get him better, he is home. He doesn't have to leave here ever.

He is doing very poorly. I fear he won't make it through the night. Please send out your love and healing vibes that he starts feeling better and beats this. It will break my heart to lose him, I've become so attached to him now.

Thanx for listening and keeping him in your thoughts.

2. Oh, dear heaven. He's darling. Here are all the vibes I've got.
Wish we had a vibes smilie.

Love on him like crazy; it's astounding what having someone tell you how wonderful you are can do to help you hang on and fight.

Listen, I've worked for vets and in wildlife rehab and I've seen some absolute miracles. I hope we can add Baxter to that list.

Please keep us posted. He's in my heart. So are you.

3. Much love and happy vibes to Baxter.
Edited on Tue Apr-19-11 07:48 PM by YellowRubberDuckie
I'm in love with that face. I so hope he gets better. Losing a dog sucks, even one you've only had for a few days. What a gentle creature, and you guys are so awesome for taking him in.
We found our boy Leroy at the pound. He was minutes from being put down. He lasted about 14 months. He was an old man, but those last 14 months were full of love, laughter and happiness. I miss him every day. He was the best dog I ever owned. He was a chocolate Cocker Spaniel. The most loving, protective, sweet boy. The best dogs are the accidental ones.
I so hope Baxter is OK. But if he's not, he's got at least one friend waiting on the other side to play ball, I promise.

But dogs can pull through if they are treated quick enough. Let's hope this is one of those times. Fight, Baxter, fight!

44. Oh, boy. I am so very, very sorry.
Years ago, a friend of mine from work brought me a puppy who needed a home, since she knew I had recently lost the dog I'd had since childhood. She found homes for all the pups in that litter, saved a little gold colored female for me, since she was most like the dog I had lost. Since I was at work, I took her to my vet's, asked them to check her out and give her any necessary inoculations. But it turned out that this puppy had parvo, too, with the same sad result, even though she was cared for through the night at the vet's. So my friend had to contact all the people who had the other puppies... ;(

He was adorable and so very fortunate to have found you.

45. Oh, I'm so sorry! We all wanted a happy ending.
Thank you so much for taking care of him, even if it were only for a short while.

You know, of course, that they come to us when they need help? They seek out those humans who they can sense will help them. And although it's very sad to lose one, from their point of view, it's the highest compliment that a human can be paid.

It's my privilege to share this earth with persons such as you!

I do NOT understand how people can do that to an animal. Sure they may find a Hippywife (or another sucker like Kali;-) ) but most are going to die alone and slowly. I just can't understand the cowardice, or the self delusion of it.

You did all you could. He was loved.
