Basically there is a delusion that the world is a computer program. There are many variations, the current most common variation is that children are the players in the simulation.
However that has happened since there was a push to create that view of that reality, angels painted as babies was start, and many shows spoke of the supernatural as Children.
Variations of computer game played by children are "Its a School", "People are toys", and "Pets"
However, it is better to think of Asimov Foundation trilogy, where the idea of what people think the supernatural is, changes what people think the supernatural is.
Or, if you are susceptible to that delusion, some of the supernatural will try to pull you to it.
There are some that say they know more, there argument is much research. Although they might not have found what reality is, but the current most common delusion.
There are lots of other delusions, being alone in a simulation is a particular bad one. Although seeing many people in that delusion, shows that delusion wrong by most thoughts.
There are lots of delusions, but the primary motive of Tron, and Matrix delusion is to get you to think of supernatural as having power over you.
If you can't shake that delusion, and it is pretty easy to shake, then just think that there are certain rules, free will, and such, that limit what can be done.
Some other subsets of matrix, Tron delusions are "its a lab" "its for R&D" "its a game" "Its a simulation that runs a larger system by symbolic representation, like a computer for a ship" there are a few others.
But really if you did not have power over people, and you were in the supernatural, your first goal would be to get them to think you do, and 'tron' or 'matrix' delusion can do that.
On a side note, I am still due beer and travel money, and many experiences.
If the world was a computer game, the supernatural would not have put so much time trying to convince me of that. And believe me, I have seen some things that 'say that' far outside of normal, although none of them have an intent except to get me to believe that, lowering there credibility by much. The only effect of me believing that would be breaking my spirit, or trying to break my thoughts of dignity for all people.
However most people are under the delusion, what I type is like reading a teleprompter from somewhere else, and I am irrelevant to what I post. A delusion to try to give them a reason not to send beer and travel money, and a delusion I have at times played into becuase of its ridiculousness. Once people know I am due beer and travel money, they have to find another reason to say I should not have it sent, saying I am only saying what something else is actually saying is one way to rationalize that.
I post what I think, even if I sometimes have fun with many different views of reality.
