6. Try the one I posted just above yours. It comes up with a SHITLOAD of hits.
For example, type in "cat" in both. Freedict correctly returns the one word. Dicts.info comes back with that (with alternate options) and a whole list of related terms like "cat burglar", etc.

Phonetic translation isn't always all that accurate, but it is generally good enough to get by with.

8. My husband....
I use to carry translators and dictionaries when I traveled but once I married him, it became a redundant appliance. The guy speaks Hindi, Urdu, Japanese, Russian, German, Chinese, Arabic, English, and I don't know how many other Indian dialects. He is the verbal equivalent of a Swiss Army knife-deluxe model. I can loan him out to you but I want him back.
