3. I would research the specific drug online - and also check for any possible drug interactions |
|
I have found lots of information and user reviews for every med i've ever taken on the internet(s)

14. I think it depends on the source and type of pain. |
|
Percocet did wonders knocking out some kidney stone pain I had a while back. But in using it months later for sciatic pain, all it did was help me sleep. The pain remained, considering that was an inflamed whole nerve versus a tiny spiky piece of calcium oxalate poking my kidney walls ;)

anything over 7.5mg of hydrocodone and i puke. phenergan (promethazine) helps with that and benedryl with the itching i've found. (this is just my personal experience, not advice).

they make me very itchy and sick like I am going to throw up, and they really dont help the pain that much. Aleve works better at that, IMO.
The biggest concern about taking narcotics should be how addictive they can become in no time at all.

11. There is almost no way to predict how you react to them |
|
Some people can take them and be fine, others will be sick as a dog. Addictive tendencies also are not predictable. I know people who have taken oodles and never had an issue. Others after just one or two doses had problems. The best advice is to keep in touch with your doctor over any concern. The internet has some very bad advice in this area. DO NOT take others experiences as advice because there is no way to know if your dad will have any thing similar.

12. If he's like me, there won't be any side effects |
|
Unfortunately, if he's like me there won't be any primary effects either.
