I don't mind him going all feral but I'm embarrassed he's doing it over broccoli.

1. One of my all-time favorite cats had a broccoli jones.
And the amazing thing is, Winston weighed well over 30 pounds! No one would call him a wuss for eating broccoli. :P

3. My dog loves broccoli.
A long time ago I read that if you are a vegetarian and are trying to feed your dog that way, they love broccoli.

I wonder if it's the greens they like, such as when they eat grass? :)

7. Do a YouTube search on "broccoli" and "kitten"
and you'll get the famous, almost tweeking, kitten going nuts for a floret of broccoli, including the growling!

:D Love the spaz-like paw-action, too

Here's the companion video for the same kitteh: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVdcipZLrms&feature=related

And another broccoli-lovin' cat, though the video-poster says their cat only seems to want it while it's in the bag

5. We had a cat who loved corn (ON the cob, no butter) and asparagus.
Much growling accompanied the nomming.

I don't think any of ours ever have gone nuts over veggies -- but maybe I'll see if any of them like broccoli - just bought a big Costco bag...

9. My cat Bunny will take you out over a juicy piece of fruit.
Stone fruit is her favorite but she loves some watermelon and orange too. She'll fight a dog any day for peaches or plums.

13. I had a cat once (Pudding) who went absolutely batshit crazy
...over olives. The regular green ones, with the red pimento stuck into it. He would play with it for days.

15. Is there butter or cheese on it?
If so, it makes sense. If not... ?? I once had a cat who loved corn on the cob, which he would gnaw rather ineffectively (cats don't have the right sort of teeth for corn on the cob) but with great enthusiasm. And another who loved cantaloupe.

One of my current cats gets completely psycho over ham. That's meat, so at least he's true to his carnivore self, but he goes absolutely nuts. I can't eat a ham sandwich in his presence because he'll snatch it right out of my hands and run off, growling.

17. My cat has a corn on the cob fetish.
I made a steak once and she was screaming, practically climbing in the plate. I fed her a bite of the filet mignon, and she turned me down. I gave her a bite of the corn, and she went crazy. I had to give her her own cob.
