It was sweet.

4. That was my favorite part of the show so far.

Kind of fun to see old timers like him and Tom Jones. At least this show has a lot of interesting stuff. I thought the final was kinda boring.

6. I thought it was kind of gross.
I get that Bennett was a big name but he was old when I was young (I'm 44) and to put everyone else with pretty big current stars that the people who watch idol are likely to know (even Priest is doing a concert tour this summer) seemed like a big FU to her.

10. I think all ages watch the show.
Nothing against the two kids in the finals, but I think there are probably people of all ages watching the show, not just teenagers. Thats why they ended up with such wholesome finalists. And there were probably a fair number of older people watching the final and this show who wouldn't have a clue who lady gaga was.

12. Agree!
I know fans who are in elementary school as well as some in their 70s! And they both liked the two finalists.

James was my favorite though. I enjoyed his number with Judas Priest.

13. The whole "wholesome" comment is somewhat baffling
but I'll let it go.

I think the demographics I have seen indicate the largest groups are tweeners and soccer moms. The tweeners being the largest. The two in the finals were nowhere near the most talented, imho. Casey is a musical genius but his style certainly isn't for everyone. Hailey had the best voice of them all. I think she got so much hate from the judges (i.e. the producers) because she doesn't fit a solid niche that they could market her as if she won.

Gaga--also a musical genius--was an odd choice in my opinion (though she was #1 on the Forbes most powerful celebrity list this year) because she is not the Justin Beiber type that both tweeners and soccer moms like.

14. I think it had to do with the type of singer she is also. I think she is the best and I wish she
won. She has this raspy voice that can scat with the best of them. She's not country or Beyonce' She is or can be if she wants, old school fabulous female vocalists. I think that was why she was with Tony Bennett

15. I understand it stylistically
but the whole "with my baby" thing was just....gross...with half-dead Bennett acting like he was Hailey's man. She has the best voice going, imho too.

8. Tenacious D? School of Rock? The Pick of Destiny?
Seriously, you didn't know Jack Black could sing? That's what he does.

11. I thought Pia would win in the beginning- she has a lovely voice.
But I really am glad Scotty won. Beautiful well trained voice, great kid, very genuine. This year they seemed to really encourage the contestants to be themselves instead of singing shit they didn't know and I think that worked out well. Country music is not my thing, but as soon as he opened his mouth I was hooked.

Rock is not my thing, but if it were, I'm sure I'd like James. Something for everyone this year.

16. It must be me but I think Scotty sounded the same every time he sang and I
found it boring. Then again I really do not like country music and I guess I think all of it sounds the same. I really liked Haley after Casey and James were voted off.

18. Agreed....
...When I first heard Scotty, I turned to my wife and said "There is your American Idol winner". There was good talent this year, but I'll be one of the first in line for Scotty's first cd. This coming from an old time rocker. Thanks.

19. I stopped watching after Haley was voted off... They should have
named it Country Idol this year.

I just didn't like either of the finalists. I wish someone would come up with a "Last Chance" type Idol. One where the minimum age is 35-ish.
