Miz t. left Tuesday to help a recently widowed friend drive back to New Hampshire. With our friend's two dogs.
Now she's helping our daughter in Boston with a reupholstering project.
ETA back at the homestead unknown.

My two best friends in the neighborhood are also out of town for a while.
It's awfully damn quiet around here.
I'm having conversations with myself.

Got a chicken with some new potatoes, broccoli, onions, garlic, prunes, and lime wedges in the tagine in the oven.

Should be ready about 7:00.

She freezes a lot of leftovers for me.
But I like to cook, and she knows that.
Don't know why she thinks I'll starve when she's gone.

13. Oh yeah, the tagine chicken was great, if I DO say so myself. Spices:

Here are the spices I put on the chicken, except I doubled the recipe and was out of saffron:

quarter teaspoon black pepper
quarter teaspoon ground ginger
pinch of saffron
one teaspoon cumin (optional)
one teaspoon turmeric (optional)
one stick of cinnamon or a few pinches of ground cinnamon (optional)
one teaspoon coriander (optional)
Mix together well.

Using a pastry brush I lightly coated the bird with Miracle Whip.
I know, I know...:eyes:, but it gave a nice tang and made the spice powder stick.
