Mods: I beg you not to delete based upon the "personal attack" rule.
I've been on DU since the beginning, quite literally, and have yet to have a single post deleted, much less be banned. I've never, to my memory, even pushed the "alert" button. While I occasionally (okay, frequently) disagree on matters related to Israel or the ante-bellum South, I've demonstrated nothing but progressive attitudes on virtually every other subject. Must liberals be in lockstep with one another? Is goose-stepping what we're relegated to? It is also not polite to accuse someone of being a freeper/inflitrator/et.al..
I'm not even sure why you would accuse me of being a troll (other than the aforementioned Israel/antebellum South threads). My attitude, as far as I'm concerned, would best be described as "pragmatic" or "realistic." At my work, I am seriously referred to as the "man who doesn't smile" ;-).
Did you see "Hellboy?" Cartoon violence, nothing worse than what we watch TOGETHER on CNN every single morning...and I've taught her well to hate Nazis/fascists. She's known the word "Nazi" since she was 18 months old, and she's known it was a synonym for "pure fucking evil." The parts she closed her eyes on were the kissing scene at the end, and the part when Cthulhu begins to cross the gate between worlds. I happen to think that my family's near-pathological hatred of Nazis is one of the reasons that I can take her to a movie like "Hellboy." As a matter of fact, I take her to all of the comic-book movies; they're not real. Relax.
In what way does this make me a bad father, or a troll? So what, exactly, is your problem with me, or the way I choose to raise my (In the interest of full disclosure, I would say that I would have changed my handle years ago, if I could have without changing my post count. In three years I've gotten 1,500 posts, and worked damn hard for them -- I've got no idea how people like Will Pitt and Keph passed me within a few weeks of their joining up. I signed on with the intention of arguing about Israel/Palestine, and just kind of stayed on because I liked the rest of it so much)
