So, who watched Game of Thrones last night? (spoilers)

So much badassery.

Robb: Finds a pair of testicles in Winterfell.

Cat: The look of pure anger when she confronted creepy crazy Lysa about the letter from King's Landing.

Both of them realizing Sansa's letter was dictated by Cersei without a second thought.

Greatjon: Laughing off having two of his fingers bitten off by a dire wolf.

Septa Mordane: Calmly walking up to the guards to buy Sansa time to get back to her rooms.

Ghost: Apparently he doesn't zombies.

Drogo: One should watch one's tongue around him. He doesn't take to back talk very much.

Ser Barristan: "Fuck you and your golden parachute, your grace!"

Syrio: Nice use of a wooden sword.

Arya: Not so much a badass, but at least she remembered to stick people with the pointy end.

I'm so loving this show.

1. I'm right about at the same spot in the book
Rereading in anticipation of the next book in the series next month.

The show looks great from the trailers, and I love that the actor who played Tommy Carcetti on "The Wire" is Littlefinger (actually, in general I think they really nailed the look of most of the characters with the cast. Tyrion's not ugly enough, but there's TV for ya.) Can't wait for it to finish and show up on DVD.

And yeah, I forgot how detestable Lysa and Robert Arryn are - probably because they don't get as much screen time as most of the other truly loathsome characters. And Arya is still pretty badass for a 9-year old.

3. I felt a strange compulsion to throw him some Mardi Gras beads.
Even though that scene was in the book, it was jarring on TV. Almost like the HBO folks had realized we were halfway through an episode with no nudity.

At least we were spared any breastfeeding scenes. I have no real problem with breastfeeding in public, but breastfeeding your 7 year old is just wrong on so many levels.

4. I have to say that it would have been worse if they'd gone with the book
I just don't need to see Osha nekkid, thankyouverymuch.
