anyone here ever work on a cruise ship?
i was thinking about trying to get the photography gig on a cruise ship...you know, where you take everyone's photo and then sell them to them for $75 or whatever it is nowadays.

anyone ever worked on a cruise ship? what's it like?

1. I had a friend
that worked on one. She said the first few days everyone pukes, no matter how big the boat is. Pay wasn't too good either. Don't remember anything else she said.

crew quarters are basically a closet and filthy to boot.

You'll get run off your feet for minimum wage and inedible meals.

...worked on one. She loved it. Of course, she had a good position (computer staff), so she was paid well, and had a lot of fun with it.

I wouldn't want to be a bus boy on a cruise ship, but for the job you refer to, I'd go for it.

Side note - she was on that ship on September 11th. She said it was frightening how the foreign passengers and crew members were not surprised by it.

5. what kind of computer jobs do they have on the ships?
i was thinking about doing the photography gig because i heard it paid well. but if they have computer jobs, that might be better.
