Looking for new website feedback - new political forum (excuse the typos)
I have prelaunched a website:

http://www.medianotions.com

It will be ready in about 1 week (after extensive spell checking and more content additions), however, the forums are done and are ready to be tested. You guys are all avid users of democraticunderground.com. Give my site a test spin. The site was built 100% by me, the forms are all my code, that is why it is sparse compared to this one, however, I will constantly be improving it. The idea behind the site is to get people like you arguing with freepers and other RWer's.

So please get on the damn site!

I am also looking for authors to write articles, once a week, once a month, once a year, I don't care I just want some content.
Also, when the site is launched i was wondering if any of you could provide feed back on how to publicize it. I have been doing sites professionally for 3 years, I am great at design and Database but i suck at publicity (well, I'm better than a layman I guess).
The site was done in PHP and MySQL - Open Source! that's why i want feedback from users, also, if you guys want to use my forum code on your website, let me know I will try to get a customizable version ready in a few weeks.

1. You're site looks good, the forum software seems great...
... I have a question, though. The site seems to be very similar to DU and others out there.

Why not just direct traffic to DU?

Even though I found your site very well done, my question is "Why?"

2. Good point, that was my biggest fear BUT...
First off thanks for the compliment.

The thing that annoys me about most political forums
Is that they cater to one point of view- which is fine if that's what you want, but sometimes you get tired of preaching to the choir.
What makes this country's politics so damn interesting is that the two predominant points of view are so out of whack with each other. I like political discussion ilike when people challenge each others points of view, hell I like political arguments. I think it is a great thing that people argue so much over important issues, IT IS GOOD FOR THE COUNTRY! Americans get a bad rap for being decadent and uinterested. Screw that! The internet and sites like the DU and hopefully mine inspire people to think about their society.

Look at it this way: Go to my site to argue, then if you get beat up come back here for support and ammo then hit Media notions again to KICK SOME ASS!

Personally i don't want my site to be as big as DU or Freepland, my server couldn't handle it. But if I get 10% of the traffic from both then I will be satisfied. Hell, it only costs me 15 bucks a month to run. I have all the skills to keep it up. It is my hobby, I guess.

4. I started a thread to help kick things off...
I have one issue, though. You're allowed more characters in the subject of your post than actually show up when the thread is posted.

Result: Subject is chopped off.
