My flying house, part 1. (Pic heavy)
Here's a video of the back half of my house flying through the air. If you have the patience to let it load, you can watch it in hi-def. I had been mentally preparing myself for the sight of a flying house, but I never thought of what it might sound like! Let's just say I was holding my breath and cringing the entire time! (I'm posting the adventures of the front half and pics of the inside in separate posts, because this is already pic heavy.)

(Earlier project pics here, here, and here.)

20. Mostly psyched, with a smidge of psycho thrown in. There's so much to do and I've never
really worked on remodeling or finishing a house before. Turns out all those years of watching HGTV and DIY don't make me feel so confident after all. :P

5. Thank you. :^) You can't see it from the lot, but the ocean is very nearby. I am looking forward to
spending some time on the little beach down the road.

21. Thanks again. We started painting today. I learned the hard way that paint dries
darker than it looks in the can. Whoops! LOL

8. seeing my house hanging in the air like that would make me very nervous.
Looks like you have few or no neighbors viewable from your lot though.
Sweet.

9. It's a wedge-shaped lot, so we can see two, but we're going to plant some screening

shrubs or dwarf trees and that will take care of that. :)

(And yes, I was nearly a basket-case watching my house creaking and groaning as it dodged this tree and that one. I was wringing my hands pretty hard!)

16. My dear GreenPartyVoter!
Wow, I finally got some time to watch your INCREDIBLE video! And what a smart thing you did...

The creaking is pretty scary, but wood framed houses are quite strong.

Great job, and may you soon be living inside your beautiful new home!

:toast:

19. Modulars are built with extra wood in the framing, and now I see why! There are several cracks
in the drywall, mostly at the windows, doors, and outlets and switch plates that will need patching up, but otherwise the house came through the experience very well. :)

18. Thanks, Pacalo. I was afraid the house would become one with some of those trees as it was
flying around, but it squeaked by. :D
