Old Style's not made in La Crosse anymore. Ever since that Australian SOB bought the G. Heilman Brewery and promptly fucked it over. The Brewery in La Crosse is now oned by new management and now makes La Crosse Beer.

for the short time it was in operation. He told us grandkids that it scared him, it was so big. He was afraid he was going to crush people on the ground because he couldn't see. He relied on radio communication and spotters.

59. Wow
Times do change after all! Baker used to be proud that there were more winners of the California state lottery coming from their general store than almost anywhere in CA because it used to be the only place Nevadans could purchase those tickets. When they built that little store right there at Stateline, all that changed. Baker is becoming less relevant every day now.

My mom and I got stranded in Baker one night when my car at the time got its engine fried. AAA towed us into Baker, and we ended up sleeping in the car because there were no vacancies available. My brother drove the hour and a half from Vegas and picked us up, and we ended up flying back to SoCal two days later. It's become one of my fears, now, to get stuck in someplace where we can't get out. Obviously, it's based in fact!

Not bad Souvlaki and Gyro's. Pretty good Grape Leaves, though I make better!

The only reason to stop in Baker, in my opinion.

Baker is one of those types of places that you say "I spent a month there one afternoon."

food, but I think we were in there at some point! The heat there has been too much for me, and I always wanted to get the hell out of there as quickly as possible after putting gas in the car! I'm a girl from New England, and even after living 15 years in SoCal, high temperatures don't thrill me in the least!

This is on the Susquehanna river just outside of Harrisburg heading west towards Dauphin on 22/322.

The original one was erected in 1986 and made with Venetian Blinds - it was there for years until a storm took it out but it was so popular funds were raised so a better one could be put in it's place
