Help me figure this out?
I don't know how to make this really short so sorry in advance that it's long! And I'm sorry if this seems like high school drama to anyone here who is past all that. But that's what it is. I just need some help.

Ok, I've known this guy since we were both 8 years old. I dared him to kiss me when we were 11 and he wouldn't so I kissed him. We were young so it's not like it was anything major. It probably happens all the time. When we were freshmen in high school he got a crush on this girl and dated her for like almost two years. I went out with a couple guys but nothing ever serious. But we still hung out a lot because we were friends for a long time and we had almost everything in common.

This guy we both know liked me. He was talking to my friend and thought we had something going on because we always hung out. While they were talking my friend acted a little jealous that this guy was going to ask me out. It got back to his GF and she broke up with him. It got back to me too so I asked my friend why he would do that. It's none of his business who likes me. We have a little falling out but nothing major. So pretty much in our junior year and our senior year we spent time together. In our senior year we had sex. But there was something about us being friends so long that made me think we should keep it that way at the time and I told him that. He said ok.

Another friend of mine confronted me and then him separately about how we belong together. We're perfect for each other. Stuff like that. So right before graduation in June he tells me he realized that he wants to be with me and he always should have been.

Does this seem like it's normal or kind of weird or totally fucked up? LOL

And did I explain this so it makes sense?

1. It sounds perfectly normal to me. And...
what have you got to lose by giving it a shot? Just go slow and see if it works for both of you. Why not?
jmho, take what you want and leave the rest. Good Luck!

4. That's about par for the course.
The Girl Next Door is a cultural trope for a reason...most teenage boys fall for the girl who they see every day and have spent time with constantly for years and years and who they really know. It's a life experience formation thing, we covet what we see everyday; it forms the basis for the genesis of our desires.

In all likelihood you'll both enjoy the fling and then move on when you get to college, especially if you go to different schools. Enjoy it...these are the fun ones because there's no expectations or conflicting desires or drama...you're twenty-something, neither of you is thinking marriage, family, baby yet.
