1. Wayne and Shuster from Canada. They had a great closing song which is below.

I loved their show on the CBC when I was growing up.

2. Absolutely these guys. I laughed so hard when I was a kid, and I still do so to this very day.

Something about them just gets to me.

I don't know what it is.

13. Not vaudeville at all...kind of Newhart-ish (same "dry" himor)...
...and the Firesign Theatre built their entire career on being a weed-smoking, 4-man Bob and Ray ensemble.

They did a lot of fake "radio interviews"...they did satires on the old radio dramas of the day...they had some primary characters but the extended list between the two had to be in the HUNDREDS.

:toast:

16. One of my favorites is the "Mary Backstayge & The House Of Toast" arc...
Mary & Harry Backstayge..."America's Favorite Family of the Footlights"...gets conned into investing in a fast-food franchise specializing in toast.

It quickly moves from the ridiculous to the sublime.

They also did several "Tippy the Wonder Dog" skits, take-offs on "Lassie" and "Rin Tin Tin." In one of them, Tippy is sent to find the helicopter rescue pilot. His owners get a note back: "Your dog BIT me...so I threw him OUT."

7. Love Cheech and Chong but in my mind this pair has never been topped....
George Burns and Gracie Allen were remarkable. Their television show (in syndication-I'm not that old) was a real riot. Her timing was the best I've ever seen.

10. I have heard that it was Gracie that was the brains behind the show
Funny because she played such an airhead. Kinda like the Smothers Brothers. Tommy was the creative driving force behind their act as well.
