Do you ever call the wrong number and hang up after a couple rings or after hearing the VM greeting
And then a few hours later the person you called by accident will call you back and say
"duhhh yeah uh somebody called me from this number?"

That drives me insane.

People, if someone doesn't leave you a message or they hang up before you answer and you don't recognize the number, don't call it back.

1. Yeah, I called from work once to see if the shop was done with my car, and mispunched.
Got somebody's machine. Hung up

About an hour later, I got a call from somebody trying to figure out who I was without telling me who she was. She finally said, "You called me earlier today!" So I apologized for dialing a wrong number

I figured if she was so desperate she was calling back anybody who had dialed her number, I wasn't going to give her grief

3. Yeah, that wasn't who you called.
It was the suspicious other of who you called.

5. I never do it on my land line, but I use my cell for work,
and I've found that some people don't leave messages even though they really are wanting to talk to me.

6. Several times I've had messages left on my answering machine
That were obviously wrong numbers, but left no way for me to get in touch with the caller. It used to be answering machines didn't automatically record the number of incoming calls, so I expect Jed had a real long wait in the duck blind before he figured out his hunting buddy wasn't going to show up. And for all I know, some poor woman is still waiting at the Phoenix airport for me to pick her up so that we can pick out a coffin for her mother.

But the worst one was some panicked woman calling me to ask if her four-year-old daughter was still at my house after the birthday party. Fifteen years later, and I still worry if that kid made it home safely.

7. I'm a pediatric hospice nurse. When I see a missed call I call them back
because some moms are very anxious and don't leave a message when scary things are happening.

8. what drives me nuts
is when I call someone and leave a messag and instead of listening to the message they just call back and say "Someone called me from this number".

It especially bothers me when I'm doing appointment reminders.

Listen to your damn messages people

9. Yes! That too!
After you leave a thoughtfully worded message, they don't even listen to it.

AAAAH!
