A friend asked today...
...Is it foolish to believe that a person is irreplaceable? Does it depend on your relationship to that person?

I replied, "We are all irreplaceable and we are all replaceable. I think of my child. He is not replaceable, to me or his father or grandparents. It doesn’t matter whether or not it is foolish to think that. Such are the irrevocable truths of love. Yet, we are none so important that time will stop, that stars will stop exploding and being reborn in other universes if any of us should leave our relationships, or jobs, our towns, or our lives. But on that scale, it is not relevant whether we can be replaced, because we are part of the fabric of everything and cannot truly leave. Importantly, you are not a fool for asking such a meaningful question."

I'm happy she asked. That was a fulfilling ponder. I love people for that.
