Musical .. ahem ... Talent???

I just had the misfortune of viewing a live performance (on tv) by the band 'One Republic', which has had several top 40 hits in the past few years on the contemporary/pop charts.

The lead singer was terrible, off key all over the place to my rather musically limited ear. So bad that at times I was wondering if perhaps he was performing despite a raging sore throat or laryngitis (if so, I guess I owe him an apology).

It seems to me that music is now about as "natural" as much of our food -- highly refined and processed, assembled in a manufacturing process designed to crank out the maximum possible amount of a high-profit product without any real regard to how "nutritious" it might be.

Kind of sad.
