What are the most popular alcoholic drinks of DUers?
Beer?
White wine?
Red wine?
Jack Daniels on the rocks?

What do you think it is?
I don't know if we've ever had a poll taken to see what is the most popular alcoholic drinks here at DU.
I'm thinking that champagne is probably not on the list, except at Skinner's house, but who knows.
Maybe after a few days of collecting possible answers, I'll start a poll about it.

20. You are not kidding! Wiki on Prairie Fire = eeeeeeeerp
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prairie_Fire_(mixed_drink)

I copied it because it will go away: "A Prairie Fire is a mixed drink consisting of strong liquor and hot sauce. In Canada a Prairie Fire is made from 1 part motor oil, 1 part tobascoo, and one part ass juice, dude."

24. LOL!
Well, I don't know about the motor oil, but a shot of golden tequila with red haze of Tabasco hovering gently in the bottom of it is a lovely drink. But I have a ritual to go with it.

I heat with wood and I only light a fire at night, so when I get home the house is cold. I pour the tequila first then slowly drop in the Tabasco so that it settles to the bottom. I set it aside. Then I build a fire. I wait until the fire is hot enough to warm my feet then I shoot the tequila and chase it with a beer. That means whatever I was doing in that miserable weather is over and I can turn my attention to more important matters.

But then again I like spicey food too. YMMV. :)

7. I've been loving martinis lately.
Edited on Mon Sep-26-11 12:53 AM by Lucian
Especially dessert martinis. I had a Snickers martini, a pineapple upside down cake martini, and a tiramisu martini on Thursday and they were really good.

8. One of three
Makers Mark on the rocks
Hennessy on the rocks
Stoli on the rocks

I don't really have a favorite because thanks to the conservative dickbags in Texas, my nearest liquor store is a 30 minute drive away. So I move from one to the next until my supply of the holy trinity is exhausted and I have to make another liquor store run.

14. i'm only 18.
:( I don't drink. There's times I wish I was old enough though. Don't really favor getting wasted, like so many others my age. But just a drink here or there would be nice to relieve stress.

If you are old enough to serve in the military, you should be entitled to every adult privilege.

28. I remember when the drinking age was 18
Seemed like we didn't have as much binge drinking back then - ok, maybe I am seeing life through rose colored glasses of an 18 yr old college student. I now remember the coolers of alcohol in the stands of my old school. Thursday night was "beer bust" night. That is when the weekend started.

29. We have MADD to thank for this.
I remember when the voting age was 21. You could get drafted then but you could not vote. That was fixed by Constitutional amendment. But then along comes MADD to screw up the drinking age.

31. Not only could I drink at 18
I could drive in Texas with an open beer. As long as I wasn't drunk there was no open container law.

I don't know about the binge part. I kinda remember quite a few weekends.

But my favorite was monday night football at this pizza place in Arlington. FOR MNF they had a 25 cent pitcher special and a large pizza for a couple bucks. We took a couple bucks and a shit-load of quarters and had the best times ever.

You could even get Lowenbrau in your pitcher. Not sure if that is even made any more lol - I haven't seen any in 30 years. I'd like to try it once just to see if it was really that good or if I was just drunk.

32. Beer is a beautiful thing
I found a hamburger joint this weekend that has Arrogant Bastard on tap - I wanna try that.
I am partial to dark ales and I prefer higher ABV beers. Porters and Stouts are always in my fridge although I will mix it up with some IPAs and I love a lot of British and German beers.

My favorite local domestic is Yuengling because it is not Bud or Coors and most places have it on tap.

Beer is what I drink mostly but I will be glad to help you finish off a bottle of 15yo Laphroaig.

And if somebody is making margaritas, I'll bring some Herradura.

And if all else fails a black or white Russian is fun but like I said in a previous thread that is more because I love The Big Lebowski.
