I always assumed Elmo was some woman with a squeaky voice, turns out it's some big loveable guy with a really deep voice that does Elmo. But it does seem like a story of love how he became Elmo. Amazing trailer makes me want to see this movie!

1. I hate Elmo, he came along and stole the spotlight from the characters I grew up with
Then he proceeded to sell tons of substandard merch to the kids.

Tickle Me, blech. Oscar wasn't a shill for the man. Grover kept his head down. Big Bird didn't hock a vibrating toy upon the kiddies. Bert and Ernie still live in the tiny one bedroom they had thirty years ago. But Elmo, that non descript red fuzzball, he's gotta have his nose in everybody's business... No thank you, freakin Elmo.

2. I've seen him before, and just adored him. And envy him!
Wouldn't it be great to be a Muppeteer?

4. Nothing wrong with Elmo....
I just wish MeTV would air Classic 70s Sesame Street alongside other TV greats such as I Love Lucy, Mary Tyler Moore, and All in the Family.

So maybe 70s SS isn't good educational material for today's kids, but come on--it's classic camp!! ;)

5. I would love to see classic "Electric Company" shows from the 70s
I adored Easy Reader, who was played by the Oscar Winning Morgan Freeman

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Electric_Company_(1971_TV_series)#Selected_recurring_characters

Easy Reader (Morgan Freeman): A smooth hipster who loved to read at every opportunity and every printed thing he saw. He was often associated with Valerie the Librarian (Hattie Winston), and in earlier seasons with Vi (Lee Chamberlin) in her diner. His name is a pun on the title of the film Easy Rider. In the first season, he was dressed more like a hippie. However by the second season, He wore a denim jacket, pants with a turtleneck shirt, and sunglasses.
