In alternate rock-n-roll history, after Elvis was drafted, someone

marketed Cliff Richard so skillfully to the USA that he became a big star there
as well as in the UK.

Thus it was Cliff Richard who broke the pond barrier, not the Fab Four.

4. My how our rock history would have changed...
And...not for the better.

FYI...The Beatles weren't so much into Elvis, as they were Buddy Holly, Little Richard and Chuck Berry...

5. No, the Beatles weren't, but the record-buying public were.

Buddy Holly is a favorite of mine too.

I was never familiar with Cliff until "Devil Woman" and "We Don't Talk Any More." An old boyfriend of mine was, though, and I remember him singing "Bachelor Boy," which is a kind of catchy tune.

I like to listen to old Cliff Richard songs on YouTube sometimes.
