I guess I just didn't see the stern because when I took that a few months ago I wasn't at all trying to be stern. I was just playing with my new phone cam and couldn't see what I was taking. I took my glasses off because they kept showing too much glare...and I had a thought that a lot of the really great portraits I had seen didn't involve any smiling so I tried to tone down the smiling to see if I could get somewhere with it...

and if you hung out with me for a day you'd never believe I was ever stern for even a minute lol....I'm just a big goofball (who weighs substantially more than 125 pounds now) and I get criticised for that too from the same people that thought this was a bad pic. lol!

Yes, still hiking....we live next to a state park which has many hiking trails (including segments of the North Country Trail). The Allegheny National Forest is about ten miles away. We've met the Superintendent and he last worked in the Cleveland National Forest and lived in San Diego! Small world.

27. Thanks Peggy. Wake boarding is done about 5 to 8 feet behind a boat.

That's a tow rope in my hand and the idea is to maneuver into the crest of the wake produced by a moving boat and ride it like a wave. You're supposed to let go of the rope to really get the ride right, but this was my first time and I didn't get that far.
