2. haha, just bored at work

and a thing I'm working on calls that symbol a "hash mark" then my mind wandered to all the other names we have for it. As far as I can tell, it's the only common symbol that we use that has multiple meanings and names. Though of course naming it a hashtag is relatively new.

11. I'm pretty sure pound sign is the winner, and that's weird because

there's another pound sign, that L with a slash through it for pound sterling. I've only heard hash mark from programmers.
