What kind of work week would you prefer out of these two choices?
Option 1: 5 day work week, mon-fri. Reasonably busy all day long, each of the 5 days are equally busy. You're not stressed to make deadlines because there's plenty of time. Everything that has to get done by the end of the day gets done without worry but there really isn't any time to waste online or checking your stocks or other personal stuff. You can fool around on your lunchbreak but that's about it. It's a 40 hour week spread out over 5 days.
Option 2: 5 day work week, mon-fri but Tue, Wed, & Thu have the majority of the work. Everything has to get done by 6pm and there's a tons of stress to make that deadline because the work keeps piling up. You're lucky if you can woof down a lunch at your desk on those 3 days as you answer phone calls and do other work. While T/W/Thu are longer and and very stressful, Mon and Fri are very very light workdays. You still have to show up but you can spend most of the day doing what has to be done at a leisurely pace and use the rest of the time to peruse the DU lounge or even watch TV, videos, stare out the window, daydream, doodle, plan your weekend etc. If you get done early you can leave to run errands and come back later or you can often take off and go home an hour early as long as you make yourself easy to get ahold of during that time. If you miss deadlines, you're as good as fired. But as long as you make the deadlines and don't make a lot of mistakes, it's very easy to request time off on Mon and Fri. It's a 42-43 hour week crammed mostly into 3 days.
