I could be so screwed today... |
|
Last Friday we took paperwork to my doctor for a possible medical leave of absence due to the accident. By Monday the hotel did not have it so I called the office. The lady at the desk informed me the paperwork was still on his desk. Called Tuesday. Still there. Called today to see about an appointment so I could talk with him personally. He's booked today and leaves tomorrow until Monday.
I'm supposed to go back to work tomorrow but work wants paperwork so they know if I'm going to be on light duty, medical leave or full return to work status. If I don't have it I don't know that they'll let me come back to work.
Getting a tad nervous about all this.

He needs to see you for 5 minutes to clear this up. I'm sure he's really busy, but for crying out loud!
Maybe you could just show up? Confront the office?
I've done that when the doc didn't get my Rx refilled in a timely way...
Good luck!

2. I agree. Sometimes just waiting around doesn't work. |

8. Just spoke with his nurse... |
|
She told me that I said to him that I didn't need physical therapy or time off work. Not 'exactly' what I told him. I said that I was on vacation and wasn't scheduled to go back until tomorrow so I'd rather play it by ear to see how I felt in a few days.
A few days passed and I was still hurting so I dropped off the paperwork with his office with a note explaining that I was going to take the physical therapy and was still in pain. I left him my phone number so we could talk but he never returned any calls since Friday.
The nurse said he left paperwork with her to fax to Human Resources but could not fill out the leave of absence as I told him that I didn't need physical therapy or time off.
So annoyed right now.

SORRY SORRY SORRY
Have been noticing over past years how many problems are caused by and exacerbated by lack of/poor communications, either caused by bad skills, attention, or circumstances.

It works for getting ridiculous charges taken off too.
our doc's assistant tried to charge us 50 bucks for an office visit for a signature on a form so our daughter could participate in physical therapy when all he did was sign the paper (having seen her already in the recent past and that visit HAD been paid for) while my wife was there for something else.
She showed up with bill in hand and a stern tone and the doc said "sorry" and waived the fee.
Just because we love the guy doesn't mean we don't keep an eye on things lol. (He's been our family doc for more than 20 years)

6. Good work. I don't expect docs to be good office managers, |
|
I know mine hated having to supervise employees, and add to that all the insurance crap, I don't know how single or small practice docs put up with it.
