5. I was a majorette, so I have great appreciation, too.
Thanks for the link to one of your favorites! I LOVE drum cadences, too. I could watch the movie "Drumline" -- fast forwarding to the performance scenes -- every week.

:hi:

8. Ooh, a majorette! I tried teaching myself to twirl when I was little. Other than a couple of
basic moves, I didn't get very far. LOL

I fast forward on "Drumline" too. The performances were by far better than the rest of the movie.

3. I hope some of them go on to Drum & Bugle Corps after that!
:applause:

I was in marching band, too (euphonium) but I was never a "musician." I could play and march, but didn't have the 'art' within me. If I had, I might have also gone on to something like D&B :)

9. Then, set aside about half an hour to watch them all.
The Spartacus "reenactment" is pretty cool (especially the ending!) and the Top Secret guys are mesmerizing! :D

Nice to see you, too, OGR and that you like this kind of thing. I think it's about time we start a "band" thread in the Lounge again :hi:

4. That was great!
While I was never really into marching bands I grew up going to band competitions with my family because my older sister played reed instruments and her high school band was one of the top in the state. She ended up playing (I think) oboe in the Great American Marching Band in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

But they didn't do anything as cool as this! Thank you!

7. I graduated in 1981 and VERY rarely did I see anything this cool...
in the marching band realm. I used to love to watch Grambling University Marching Band; back then, they were about the only one doing this kind of cool stuff.

How awesome for your sister. That's actually very cool!

:)
