I Just Got Back From "Freddy v. Jason" - Here's My Review
I give it * * * 1/2 stars (and I'm a tough critic).

This movie kicked ASS.

If you were a fan of those old Freddy and Jason movies you're going to absolutely cream yourself over this version of the tale. It has everything a campy horror fan could ask for (except good dialogue) - gore, violence, campy gore and violence, humor, suspence, thrills, chills and (blood) spills.

I don't know exactly how they did it, but they turned Jason into a semi-Good Guy and Freddy into an even more Bad Ass than he used to be.

Both get their share of face time and both don't disappoint in coming up with creative ways to kill sex-crazed, beer-drinking, pot-smoking teenagers.

And the fight scenes! Boy oh Boy were these terrific. Both guys got their licks in and bloodied eachother to a pulp.

I'd recommend this movie to anyone over the age of 12. Although, I did see this woman bring her three kids into the theater and they couldn't have been any more than 8 or 9 years old (the other one was an infant?!?!) :wtf:

But this is a great Friday night movie to see with some friends. It's good, clean campy fun.

Like I said, * * * 1/2 stars.

:)

3. YAY!!!!
I'm going tommorrow to the matinee.

How's the body count? I saw lots of young people in the trailer...plenty of sinning fodder for Jason & Freddy!!

:bounce:

5. I'd say
It's damn high, especially when Jason shows up at a rave-like party in the middle of a cornfield. He just starts hacking away and bodies fly everywhere.

Damn cool. :)

7. Rock on!
I must admit I was a bit skeptical at first, but yours isn't the only glowing review I've read so far. I've been following this movie for a hell of a long time.

Frankly, I'll see just about any horror film made nowadays, they just don't make enough for me to be choosy. I even saw Jason X. This summer could turn out to be a good one for horror flicks (if nothing else). I'm also looking forward to Jeepers Creepers 2 (I thought the first one rocked).

8. That's about how I feel
There are so few horror films being made these days that one can see them all and still have time left over to do politics. ;-)

12. Ya know what would be cool? Freddy v. Jason IN COURT!!!
(Family Guy-type sequence)

Jason sues Freddy for some type of accident, and they're both trying to get at each other's throats, but the Judge won't have any of it. (Mr. Krueger, I will find you in CONTEMPT!!!) Watch the hilarity ensue.

13. How come
the Jason in this movie isn't Jason X? You know, the metally-looking one from the insanely bad latest installment in the Jason series?

And how come no satisfactory explanation is ever given for why these guys never die?

14. oh, here's the deal
Jason CAN NOT be killed.

He sorta indestructable. He can be hurt, and restrained, but not killed.

Freddy is just like some sort of dream demon. He can be banished, or lose his power, but he can't DIE, either.

And this Jason is the regular Jason, not Jason X because Jason X sucked and they wanted to associate this movie with the regular Jason franchises.

Plus, Jason X took place in space.
