OMG...we just put an offer on a house!
Paul found a house for sale that was just listed. We called our realtor who misunderstood the address he gave her. There is another house directly across the street for sale and she thought that was the one. We went to look at it. It's so pretty! It has an apple tree in the back yard. We loved it.

Wish us luck. :)

6. Danke!
The back yard is so pretty. If we're lucky enough to get it I cannot wait until spring to see the apple tree in bloom.

2. I haven't really followed your house-hunting until recently ...
are you just ready to buy? Have to buy? It seems like you've been looking/offering almost daily -- just wondered why you're in such a hurry.

I mean nothing even remotely negative - just curious because it seems like a very consuming ordeal for you now. I hope to be able to buy something one of these days but haven't ever gone through what you're going through.

It's a cute place; good luck! :hi:

5. We've been looking for a while...
But we're hoping to adopt in the future and our current house is not nearly large enough. We want to start our home study but need to be in the larger area before that.

And I know you meant nothing negatively and believe me, I appreciate you asking. :)

37. That's wonderful -
my husband and I adopted our daughter and before we had the home study we made sure that the house (which we later lost to foreclosure, but that's another story) was up to code and as child-safe as we could make it. Good luck!!

And all because of a mistake! I love the house, love big front porches!

8. I know...
The front porch and the back deck are great. I will admit the yard is kind of small, but very homey.

11. I have a small yard. It has it's advantages.
I guess it depends on what you want to do with it. But you can do a lot even with a small yard. And less mowing and maintenance!

I wish you years of happiness in your new house. :hi:

16. Well, yes and no...
We found it but we have to see if they accept the offer. It's out of our price range (what they were originally asking for) but the realtor convinced us to make an offer.

19. You've already got healing to do, right?
Edited on Sun Nov-13-11 08:16 PM by elleng
DON'T RUSH IT, breathe, and enjoy! (I know, moving is one of life's royal pains, and not easily enjoyed!) So why do we do it? Well, not sure except there appear to be times when life 'tells' us its the right thing to do; I'm thinking of doing so myself!

20. Nice!
I would fall over dead if we could buy a house in Austin for that price!

The housing prices here are ridiculous! A home like that would be more in the 400's.

Congrats! It is beautiful!

27. We did, but...
The house had a lot more issues than we knew. There's no way the house would pass inspection and the people who owned it did not have the money to fix the problems.

I was a little concerned about 1 bathroom with 4 bedrooms, but it has 2 half baths. But do they have showers?

38. congrats and awesome
I'm a realtor and I like happy endings like this. It's amazing how so many times people end up purely by chance on a house they wouldn't have considered or gotten into.
