Lemurs evolved to resemble muppets in an example of Batesian mimicry, in which a harmless species has evolved to imitate the warning signals of a harmful species. Muppets are made of styrofoam balls and felt, which are inedible and taste bad. Predators of lemurs will confuse them with muppets and not try to eat them.
