Is anyone else still watching American Horror Story (other than myself)?
I find myself feeling like I am watching a slow motion train wreck (Ben and Viv are the most clueless people ever).

1. We watched the first episode only
had the 2nd and third on the DVR and never looked at them and finally just cancelled the series.

It just wasn't clicking with us. And we _wanted_ to like it from the beginning. We like most all of the people in it and we love weird and horror.

I think the main thing is my wife didn't buy the concept of TV wife letting husband come back after she caught him in the act. I'm sure there was implied violence to sensitive parts of myself that I was not willing to ponder so I don't mind skipping the show...

3. I'm still watching! It's totally wacked out now - I love it!

Ghost sex is hot. Hayden is definitely my favorite now... stab it or fuck it or both, she don't care. ha ha

It has a "The Omen meets Rosemary's Baby" feel to it now. I love this show, from horror fluff to evil incarnate. Can't wait for next week. BTW, the maid and Black Dahlia scene on the couch was awesome.

Good news everyone!

2. I'm still watching
but I'm a week behind because I work nights andI have to wait for the next episode to show up on the On Demand channel. Yes, I am the last person in the world who still doesn't have DVR.

It's such an odd show,I've watched 4 episodes and I'm still not sure if I like it or not but I still keep coming back.

4. I'm still recommending it to people.
I'm watching on Hulu so I'm a full week behind. I was a little letdown by the most-recent episode up on Hulu, I don't buy Tate as Rubber Man...generally I felt that was the weakest episode thus far and I started out with sympathy for Hayden but now I just wish Larry had waited another 50 feet to bash her head in with a shovel until she was off the property.

6. " I wish Larry had waited another 50 feet to bash her head in - until she was off the property"
ha - Yes, the house is a soul sucker alright, but Hayden is evil and funny - “What is it about being dead that makes me so horny?” – Hayden. Ben is such an incredible asshole, that hasn't changed.

Tate is the perfect rubber man - I wish I could say more - but I don't want to spoil anything for you.

5. I'm loving this show, but it hard to see how it will be sustainable. So far so good tho.

Much suspension of disbelief is required.

9. I'm guessing...
one or both of the Harmon adults will die either this season or next and we'll get a new resident family. Looking back, the life-expectancy of residents seems to be less than 2 years with the exception of Constance.

This seems to have been written as a planned drama: the endgame (if not the ending itself) and plot-arc devised before the outset, everything ticks inevitably towards that endgame, like a clock. (For another example of planned drama, see: LOST, the first season of Twin Peaks. Also there are a lot more of them on British television.) They tend to be more tightly-written, less meandering as a result...the approach to writing them, because the entire arc is known to the writers in advance tends to be more like a film. They tend to be short-run shows, as once the story has played out and the end obtained, there is nowhere left to go. Rarely you'll see them try to spin-off an new arc, but these tend to falter. See: second season of Twin Peaks

It might help to think of it as a book where we're in the early chapters; still learning "the rules of the universe". The house itself, its' dark secrets, is the anti-protagonist against which both the spirits and the living within vie against and sometimes against each other. That much has been established. Beyond that, we're left with more questions than answers. Not all the players or their motivations have been revealed, I guessing.

I mean who is our hero-protagonist? Ben? Tate? Violet? Viv? Constance? Why does Moira appear at entirely different life-stages to different people seemingly based on gender and sexual suitability? Why do only some of the ghosts know they're dead? Why do some of them seem to be eternally-locked in a past moment like the Doctor's wife who seems to think it's 1930 or have only incomplete recollection like Tate who knows he's dead and how he died, but seemingly has no memory of the massacre? These all are questions that will probably lead to others that will lead to our endgame.

18. You really think they will kill off this family before the next season in Feb?
2 more episodes till the break.

Curious.

I have doubts about poor Violet though, after her thing with Tate - I fear they will be together forever, if you know what I mean.

21. Wednesdays, on FX.
I bumped this thread up because I know a lot of people that watch it and find it hard to talk about - - it kinda freaks people out in different ways, but it's pretty good fun to watch, to me. ;)

11. The music in the background is interesting
I've been hearing the themes from different horror movies from "Psycho" to "Dressed to Kill". So many times I know the music but just can't place it. It makes it a little more interesting.

I always did like disturbing rather than "Boo!" and this one's right up there. Would have traumatized hell out of me when I was a kid. I'll go catch up now.

16. I quit watching after the 3rd or 4th episode.
The pilot was great, but it's just so slow. And not creepy enough in my opinion. Well except for Jessica Lange- don't want to piss her off.
