5. And the Mouseketeers, too? Nah, bet you're not THAT old.
I remember test patterns on TV in the morning. And the Lord's Prayer when they signed off at night.

And uh, the Little Rascals, the Honeymooner reruns, etc. etc.

I'm so old. But my brain was brand new then, so I remember all that ridiculous stuff. No matter how hard I try to forget it...

13. 1954-55.
My family got their first TV in 1954. I was six. The series was first run 1953-1956. My parents watched it.

21. I'm a substitute teacher and when the kids ask how old I am
I ask them if they've seen I Love Lucy reruns. When they answer in the affirmative, I tell them that when I was a kid those weren't reruns. They were new. Freaks them out every time.

12. I remember it too. And Alan Shepherd after that. The school sent us to the auditorium to watch it.
And when NASA got going, well, there's a whole 'nother story there.

I remember staying up most of the night in the summer of 1969. Walter Cronkite relayed how they'd lost audio contact with the astronauts since they were on 'the dark side of the Moon.' It was really dramatic. What a relief to hear them start up again.

I had a cousin worked with computers at NASA in those years. And now I know people who said it never happened. So what do I know?

You could probably put together enough material for one good season.
