2. MMW are gods among men...
Medeski alone could carry a band to greatness. Adding Wood and Martin just makes them into the supergroup that should have always been.

5. I think I got it courtesy of Medeski
You hold a certain number of lower keys down, upwards of 20....

then migrate to the higher keys

Make sure Leslie Speaker and vibrato are on

3. Look at the top left switch...the one labeled "Leslie"
Leslies are rotating speakers. That's what does it.

You can get a brand-new Leslie speaker, try to find one on eBay or get a "Leslie simulator" box that sounds kinda like a real (and very, very heavy) Leslie, if you want this effect with your guitar or electronic keyboards.

4. I'm using 100% soft synths here
It's a Keyboard with a MIDI connection, and a program called jOrgan that emulates a Hammond B3.

I just need to know the "trick"

:)

6. By "sweeping sound " do you mean
That magical growl you hear where it sounds like the player just rakes his hand up or down the keys?

7. That slurring sound?
The one you used to get on a 2-switch B-3 by hitting the "start" switch that would kick in the start coils on the motor for a second and make the tone wheels slow down then speed up?

9. yep
IIRC you could bump the power switch off for a split second then back on and get a crazy pitch bend effect out of it :)

10. True.
I'm not sure it can be done with a single-switch B-3, but the ones that had the on-off and spring-loaded "start" switch could. I don't remember if that was a favorite trick of Groove Holmes or Jimmy McGriff or both. Made a really great pitch bend.
