Okay, too much info.
Edited on Sun Nov-27-11 01:25 AM by The Doctor.

This asshole came home drunk and told my 8 year old Dolly to make him dinner. When she heated up leftovers for him, HE FUCKING YELLED AT HER for not "making" a proper dinner.

There are no words to describe my rage at this asshole who has been partying on his father's dime since the age of 16.

I'm in fucking RAGE right now!!!!

But I will not kill anyone, ever.

Thank You.

Sorry, but this edit was necessary.

1. You know, sometimes we do things like that without having intended to...
Because unconsciously we know it's right...

Your daughter is wise beyond her years...You can trust that she will be all right...

Because she will.

Stop blaming yourself... C'mere...let me wipe your tears...

2. Oh God Peggy, I love you.
I'm an old warrior. I'm not allowed to talk about so many things. This hurt me so much. More than knives, more than the bullets, more than anything.

I'll take that hug.

4. Be wise. Be strong.
Never give them anything to use against you. May I suggest that you follow the "fathers and friends" facebook page? You will find a lot of like-minded men in that community -- men who are suffering over family ruptures and issues over parenting.

And may I suggest some family therapy sessions to help yourself and your daughter be safe and healthy during this?

And here's a hug, too. Take care of yourself, Dad.

6. Thanks so much.

I have been the epitome of decorum for so long (in RL, notsomuch online ^_-). It is so hard but so necessary to just shatter sometimes. Believe me when I say I understand the mechanisms and needs.

My therapy consists of backyard sessions with two Cold Steel™ Chinese War Swords. They are heavy, razor-fucking sharp, and an excellent work out. I'm afraid that most 'group' session/therapy I might partake in would not serve me well for reasons I really can't get into. Especially considering that my OP gave up enough info to finally identify me.

That might not be such a bad thing, but I can't 'surface' just yet.

Thank you so very much. You have always been a voice here that I've respected.

It looks like I always will. ;)

8. you need to modify that info in your OP then
There is a group of people at another web site who glean personal info here and make trouble for DU-ers at will.

If you can't edit that part, then ask a mod to do so.

i was that kid when i was 8 and let me tell you if you think you are giving her late breaking news you are beating yourself needlessly
she is at ground zero so nothing you say if even close to accurate will surprise her
try not to repeat it and it should be fine
she sounds like a strong girl and she will need you in the future
and vice versa
i will add this
i never saw either of my parents acting saddened by the breakup or its results
i am proud of you that you were open enough to her to allow her to see you in pain over it
i promise she has done her share of crying too and usually like you alone
i would have found someone besides me grieving about our mutual loss a comfort and she may well do so also

edited to correct spelling

10. I know.

Thank you. I'm so very sorry you went through what you did.

I desperately wanted my own to not know until they figured it out on their own. The same thing happened with my now very brilliant and beautiful (like his old man) 17 y/o son.

But this was so much worse. I can't even get into the details of the horrible things she's done and been enabled to do by this system. No, I know that there are male assholes too. I would love to personally beat each of the actual deadbeats to within an inch of his life for making things so terribly difficult for the real dads out there and everywhere, but I seldom encounter them anywhere I could get away with it. I'm not joking even in the very slightest.

I really hope I did no damage. It was only a couple hours ago. She wanted to watch Return of the Jedi, and I let her. I'm not really sure why I broke. I usually wait until I'm listening to the right music and holding swords (not with kids around) but this time it just avalanched me.

Now I have Shriekback "This Big Hush" playing. So I'm good.

Thanks again, you've always been a potent voice when you choose to be.

7. You did the right thing, hurt as it might now, and VERY lucky to have such a wise child.
My daughters have believed their lying father, who hit me, sold our house, and has so far failed to provide me my 50%, so I've had to sue him, incurring legal expenses + aggravation, and no 'So sorry, Mom,' from daughters; they don't want to hear about it from me. (They are young adults.)

Fortunately judge is on to him now, so a bit of satisfaction, but damn tired of depression resulting from being under thumb of sociopath, and unable to live my life while waiting for recompense.

So rage here of a different kind, but I'm with you, Doctor.

:hi:

17. I always take a knee to your wisdom.
Well, maybe not 'always', but here and now I say; "Thank you".

Why is it that the sociopaths and opportunists always seem to get ahead?

Okay, I know why. I'm thankful that people like ourselves come out on top... eventually.

9. okay, I'm worrying about the girl now
Is she safe in that house? Does something need to be done through legal means to protect her? If you have a lawyer....

11. I'm male.
And he has money. Lots of it.

I'm still trying to get off the ground with a couple things. I'm one of the world's few corporeal Djinn. I can't seem to pick myself up, but everything I've given anyone has been an amazing boon.

I just need someone to rub my lamp (That's not a euphemism).

I may be finally taking off. Believe me when I tell you that you'll know when that's finally happened.

Perhaps then the children will come to live with me. It happened with my older child because of his mother's 'choices', and so it will happen with these two.

I look forward to giving them the live I never had but can and will tear my way to.

Again, I thank you. I know the cousins of angels when I see them. (And they're WAY cooler!)

13. Please be gentle with her.
Eight-year-olds should not be expected to prepare dinners; encouraging them is fine, but now's the time for her to be a kid & not a fill-in for her mother. Maybe you could hire a maid who also cooks & could help your daughter with female matters.

And try to cut down on liquor.

14. You Totally missed it.
I'm not even sure how to explain HOW you missed it, but you missed it by a mile.

"HE" is the asshole whose house she lives in now. "He" is not "Me".

I really hope that clears things up.

Thanks anyhow though.

16. S'ok.

It's wearing off again like a summer storm fading in the distance.

Listening to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWWj8nIvAfc">"Shimmering Warm and Bright" by Bel Canto is totally helping too.

I take solace in knowing how everything will play out. Living in the Hard Time is just that... "Temporary".

Thank you.
