What is the critical mass for ice?
Okay. Why is it you can make a cocktail, drink it; and by the time you are ready for a second, you have to replace some, or all, of the ice in the shaker, that used for the first drink having melted; yet, even here in hot, old Southern California, the ice sitting outside in a half-open ice chest is still going strong two days after the holiday party? In fact, there are enough ice cubes left in that chest to stir or shake up about a hundred drinks.

1. My guess?
That's a really good ice chest you've got there!

Oh, wait...is this a trick question?

2. I'm not sure, but I think it has something to do with the universal equation.
I learned it in middle school, mid-70s:

The angle of dangle is directly proportional to the heat of the meat over the mass of the ass. I'm not sure HOW that relates to ice, but it might.
