I'm really struggling with this particular interview. I just (two months ago) got another job in the same organization. 20 hours, working every weekend. I was supposed to pick up an additional ~10 hours a week doing on-call for the same organization but due to budget cuts, those 10 hours never materialized. How devastating was this for me financially? I had to move 30 miles out of town on a 30-day turn-around or face homelessness. :(
Now I can't even get another part-time job in retail during the Xmas season because this job is every Saturday and Sunday, and that's when retail wants you to be available. It's killing me! I love the work (public library) and want to stay with the organization. Today's interview is for 30-hours - so I'd get the same hours I'd hoped for when I took my current job.
Here's the issue. It's a small organization and word has gotten around to my current supervisor that I've applied for this new gig. I'm afraid it bodes ill for me to be looking for another job so soon after getting this one. I'm asking you lovely Lounge Lizards to send me some good vibes/prayers/thoughts today to help sustain me through the interview. It's at 1pm Mountain Time. I'll check in after and let you know how it went.
Peace out! itf
