I quit my job and took a night job, which didn't pay as well as the one I had, to stay home and take care of my grandson (he has been diagnosed with ASD, it would be hard to put him in daycare fulltime) while my daughter worked during the day. Since that time, I had to give up some of my extra spending, which included my monthly donation to DU.

My star ran out almost a year ago, but I haven't really worried about it. I got used to the ads and not being able to see the replies to my posts (I don't post a lot, and don't get a lot of replies when I do post, but I did like being able to click on and see the replies).

I am not the type of person to ask for someone to gift me a star. I gifted a lot of stars (when I had a higher paying job) to others who couldn't donate.
