Question for Those Who Sell on Ebay
I have a question to those who buy/sell on ebay. I mostly buy but I do sell items from time to time. Well, I won an item the other day but did not pay because I had bidded on another item from the same seller and thought he might combine shipping. I usually contact the seller to make sure this is Ok but in this case,it just slipped my mind. This morning I get an unpaid claim in my email demanding I pay for my item. Well, I thought you had to wait 7 days. Turns out a seller can file a unpaid claim after 4 and today(Sunday) marked the 4th day. I was furious. Usually I wait 7 days when a buyer has not paid and then I will send them a friendly email before doing that. Filing an unpaid claim is usually after I have exhausted all avenues of approach. I went a head and paid and was careful as to what I said to the buyer. I was rather sarcastic and explained I was waiting to see if I won the second item I had bidded on.

Well, the seller informed me that it was automatic and ebay did it not him. I had never heard of this before and am curious if he is lying to me. I know I have in the past had to file a claim on my own under the dispute section of ebay. I have never heard of ebay having a function where they automatically do it after 4 days. I've never had this happen to me before and was curious if anyone here knows if this is in fact true.

1. Looks like the seller has to prompt eBay in order for eBay to contact you.
Click on "I haven't received my payment yet.
http://resolutioncenter.ebay.com/

It'll take you to this prompt:
"Open an unpaid item case
If you haven't received payment for an item that ended at least 4 days ago, eBay can open an unpaid item case for you."

So it looks like the guy is lying, or he didn't understand what he was getting himself into when he used eBay's resolution form.
:hi:
