1. I know what you mean.
DU3 is like a series of little rooms to me.

To many rules.

8. Okay, I will vent some more
I wonder if anybody is getting yelled at over this.

This site is just hard to use now. Is it asking too much to want to go to DU, view some videos and move on with my day? They must know that x percentage of the traffic is only on the first page. They do have a multimedia section, but it is just another page of hyperlinks. Yes, I do know that they go to videos, but just strikes me odd that the multimedia section has no multimedia on it.

DU is now one big discussion board where you have to know where to look to find the links you want. Of course, that logic is flawed because without knowing the links exists, there is no reason to go there.

I go to DU a few times a week now, curing me of my obsessive time consuming habit of visiting DU a few times AN HOUR. But I always leave unfulfilled.

You can just feel the flawed thinking going into this release. We now have a ton of rules so that you can't say this or can't say that. I get it that maybe some of the longtime members that have 10,000 posts can see the difference, but I don't come here to play nice, I come here to read stories, watch videos, submit posts. If some posts are are angry, racist, hostile, etc, I do not care. But now we have a gazillian rules to make sure people play nice so that 5% of the people on here are happy. If I don't like what obama is doing I can say so. If I like what he is doing and somebody else says something stupid, I can argue back.

The site may have been primarily a discussion board, but it always felt like a website. I hope that they hire somebody to fix it. It feels like it was redesigned by somebody who has never seen the site.

3. The pages load too slow for me. I have to refresh a lot.
I wish the background was light gray, rather than white.

It is hard for me to feel like posting there, though I do read the place.

Still spend majority of my time here.

5. Set your browser to override web page colors and use ad-block, it loads faster.
Because it won't load them or graphics unless I release them on a case by case basis. I never have to deal with the font style, font size or the colors of different websites unless I use my back up browser. None of it cost me anything.

And someone gave me a star, but it's not a function of making a donation as I made it work before. I get some functions with the star I wouldn't otherwise, but as far as viewing goes, all the things I'm using were all free.

:hi:

6. Thanks.
I do use ad block.

My connection speed works great for most things but '3' is still a little sticky.

7. Try running Firefox or another browser that will override the page color and fonts. I couldn't stand
Reading the regular font, size and that white background, it was aggravating, actually painful. My preferences force all websites to display my background color that's easier on my eyes, a larger font size and the type face easiest for me to read, Optima 25.

When the dreaded bloody side of beef or whatever ads were running someone here told me about the NoScript Firefox add on. It got rid of them, and also gave me a chance to not have to hear those ear worm video links some people would play 'gotcha' with. It's a few more clicks to listen to the ones I want, but it's a good filter.

It can be set to forbid Facebook to put cookies on your computer, etc., or forbid other websites from popping up. Good luck and I hope that was of some help to you, hope to see you on DU3.
