Rob Lowe joins Ahhh-Nold's campaign
Official drug dispenser

Arnie hires Rob Lowe as adviser

Movie tough guy and candidate for California governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, boosted his campaign's already hefty star power by hiring screen heartthrob Rob Lowe as an adviser, sources said.

The actor's latest recruitment target emerged after financial wizard Warren Buffett, one of the world's richest men, and former US secretary of state George Schultz signed on as his economic advisers.

Sources close to the Republican star's campaign indicated that he was courting Democrat Lowe, who played an aide to the US president in the hit television series "The West Wing," and that he was likely to come on board.

Schwarzenegger's campaign said it was "not commenting publicly" on reports that Lowe, said to be a close friend of the "Terminator" star's Democrat wife, Maria Shriver, was about to lend him his public support.

But the Los Angeles Times quoted Schwarzenegger aides as saying that Lowe was expected to join the actor's campaign team as an adviser and as a public face for the drive to have him elected governor of California on October 7.

6. What burns my ass
Rob being a Dem, and he is working to unseat a sitting Dem. Gov.

So, "Star Power" over political smarts rules the Hollywood crowd.

7. Yep, celebrity trumps all
Jamie Lee Curtis and Tom Arnold spoke up in favor of him, too.

Everyone in H'wood who either (1) feels they owe him for putting them in one of his blockbusters, or (2) hope to have a chance to work with him in the future, will stump for him.

And that adds up to a lot of people in showbiz.
