Let's start a George W.Bush recall petition
fight fire with fire-hate with hate-desperation with desperation. The right wing wants to usurp democracy at any cost to get what THEY want.We should fight for those 54 electoral votes that they are going to try and steal away from us.I suggest we start a petition to recall the presidency from this fake.I'll put my name at the top of the list.Man can you hear the pundits now?Hannity,El(junkie)Rush-bo,Matthews,Wolfie baby,Scarborough,O'Reilly. How would THEY feel? What would THEY say,if it was being done to them, that which they are doing to us?

7. Tacky
Let's just get the vote out and get rid of him and his crazy cohorts in '04

One of the problems that the left suffers from is voter apathy. Too many pot-smokers? I dunno, maybe.

I know you were partly tongue-in-cheek on this....but my serious response is we need ALL of our efforts directed at defeating Bush in '04.

Here's some actual action each and everyone of can do......start talking politics with as many people as possible. Just light stuff...something like "I sure hope we don't get another 4 years of Bush"...something like that. If the listener is a repuke, just say "Uh huh, gotta go man....joints burning in the ashtray". If they seem to agree with you then make them PROMISE you they'll be voting!! Get them to sign in BLOOD!
And keep your eyes open for elderly democrats who might need a lift to the polls.

The majority of Americans don't want Bush anymore, I think that's a given after everything that's happened in the last 2.5 years. That don't mean shat unless the majority of that majority gets out there and votes.

The Freerepukes are counting it down in their typical self-satisfied confident way. Good for them. That will just make it all the more sweater when the numbers are in, when America speaks.

I think DU should have a countdown thread too. Something like "Countdown: XXX days until sanity returns!!

9. You've got some excellent ideas here
Voter apathy is a problem that we might fail to recognize because we certainly don't suffer from that here.:D

I hesitate to discuss politics with anyone other than those I know share my views because I have been screamed at so many times. I have found that the more conservative someone is, the more intolerant he is and less willing to listen. But, you're also right about this. There are certainly those who are confused or those who haven't thought much about the issues. Those are the ones we need to find and educate. My cousin isn't at all political and just always voted Republican. I began telling her a few things about what's really been going on and she said she believed me and I could feel her outrage. That's one less vote for Bush* in 2004!:-)

And you're also right that we need to get out the vote. Too many people just don't bother, including many who loathe Bush*! I am also trying to think of who I know who is likely to be an elderly Democrat. Actually, my cousin doesn't drive. I will offer to drive her!

Welcome to DU, votein04! Keep the good ideas coming!:toast:

11. The Constitution
You can't recall the President. It's not allowed in the U.S. Constitution. We can only impeach him. Californians can recall their Governor because it is allowed in the CA Constitution.
