The launch of left.org
Submitted on behalf of David Lytel.

Going on the Road, Starting to Sing

Forgive us that there is not yet a way for you to sign yourself up and participate in an online discussion here, but we want to bring the functions over from ReDefeatBush deliberately and methodically so we can improve them as we do it. This week we're completing the final version of Left Up to Us, our documentary of the CounterInaugural events, and we're putting a few more elements of the Web site into place. Next week I'll be on the road, probably in California, Texas and Wisconsin looking for financial support. If you can introduce us to someone who has a history of political philanthropy please let us know via the ReDefeatBush feedback form.

This is all set out in chapter and verse in our participation prospectus at http://www.WhenYouSeetheLightTakeaLeft.org but here's the nutshell: Left.org will be a political committee and pursue a lawsuit under the 14th Amendment to reduce representation in Congress for states in which the right to vote for president was "in any way abridged." Majority Media will be a media company that both pioneers new distribution networks for alternative media, meaning media that cannot pass through the continually narrowing pinhole of political communication that is acceptable to commercial broadcasters and publishers, and a creator of new works in print, online and and on video.

After the completion of the Left Up to Us video documentary of J20, Majority Media's first two major projects are expected to be a book and a speakers bureau.

Wayne Madsen will be the lead author and editor for our first book, The Making of the President 2004. It will be the indictment of George W. Bush and the rest of our political system for failing to enable citizens to have their votes cast and counted honestly. We will do our best to work with the most authoritative sources we can find in OH, FL, NM, NV and nationwide. The people who contribute chapters to it will become part of Majority Media's speakers bureau, probably called either LeftwithAwareness.org or LeftwithUnderstanding.org. We will offer left-leaning audiences our services as a way of broadening the audience of subscribers to left.org and helping us earn a living. The book, of course, reinforces this. One fun idea is to have a special rush service called LeftwithNoOne.org for groups that urgently need a speaker in a hurry, for which they would pay approximately double the normal rate. We have asked some high profile Democrats, Greens and Libertarians to participate without requiring that we be anyone's exclusive agent for this work. If you will help us find groups that need speakers we can come with the Left Up to Us video, including the opening welcome message from Not the President of the United States.

And I'm not sure if we can organize something in time for Valentine's Day but if not, plan on marking Not My President's Day with us on February 21st.

Olth Zebermann Steps Out
Please join us in welcoming Olth Zebermann, who will be the mascot for Left.org, the organization that will replace ReDefeatBush on January 20th. He's sorta like a donkey, but more colorful, more hip and when it comes to defending the rights of Democrats to vote he's not such an ass. And he is an aggressive and passionate investigator, sometimes, when being clever and striking a pose doesn't exhaust his creative energies.
